Before I hit the Finish Line

Just last weekend, I watched the movie "The Bucket List" and it made me realize I am turning 25 by the start of next year. And the average age of Pakistan is 55, which means I have spent almost half of it wasted.

If I look back at all the years I have spent in wasting myself, I doubt if I have accomplished anything I wanted not others, parents, siblings. Most of us do what other wants us to do, including me. So I decided, half of my life has passed, let's not waste yourself more and do something which you always wanted to do. It may not sound like an accomplishment or something big to name but its more about inner contentment. So here goes my list:
  • To learn guitar
  • Do yoga
  • Dive undersea (regardless of the fact am hell scared of water)
  • Bungee jumping
  • Ski- Diving
  • See Kashmir, its snow-covered mountains
  • Want to own a house on a mountainous location
  • Want to publish my poems
  • See Muslim heritage of Turkey, Egypt, Spain, Iran, Syria, etc etc
  • Want to find a beach or mountain where I can see millions of stars together
  • And and and
  • I want to madly fall in love
Oh, quite a list!
I wonder how many years left with me to fulfill my wishes because I really need money to do all the above stuff. But I am happy that at least I know my wishes. Identifying yourself and your utmost desires is an accomplishment itself.

Many of us just live lives as if been sent down on earth to breathe, walk, eat, waste, and sleep. I call them dead fish. The saddest dilemma of the human race is that we die before death comes to us. Living for me is the freedom to breathe with our chosen circumstances. Somethings come to us un-chosen but utilize the pick and choose an option where one can.

I mean come on, life and death come once and without choice and pre-alerts. so in-between it's all about one's own self.

Celebrate the distance from your finish line.
